The number of English players traveling to Qatar with their separate national teams comprises one-fifth of all World Cup squads and is 77 more than any other nation, with 86 players from Spanish leagues doing the same.

In terms of domestic clubs, Bayern Munich surpassed rival powerhouses Manchester City and Barcelona with 17 call-ups, setting a tournament record (both 16).
